From the streets of Tokyo to the pages of your favorite manga, the fictional "WcDonald's" has been a playful nod within anime and manga culture for years. Now, McDonald's is making this fan-favorite eatery a reality! Starting February 26, 2024, in more than 30 countries, McDonald's is launching a unique campaign that brings the whimsical WcDonald's universe to life, complete with a new sauce, manga-inspired packaging, and a series of anime shorts.

Dive into the world of anime with every bite of the new Savory Chili WcDonald's Sauce. This limited-time sauce blends ginger, garlic, soy, and a kick of chili flakes to deliver an explosion of flavor. It's perfect with a 10-piece WcNuggets or as a sidekick to any McDonald's favorite.

Manga Packaging and Digital Manga Drops

In a special collaboration, iconic Japanese manga artist Acky Bright brings his talent to McDonald's, designing custom WcDonald's packaging that draws you deeper into this vibrant universe. Plus, scan the code on the packaging for weekly digital manga drops featuring a cast of unique characters, from the regular Hashirune to the Crew jokester Mr. Bev.

The First-Ever Official WcDonald's Anime

In an exciting partnership with Studio Pierrot, known for hits like "Naruto," McDonald's presents the first official WcDonald's anime. Spanning four episodes, each short explores a different subgenre of anime, from Action to Fantasy, unfolding the saga of the WcNuggets and the special sauce. Catch a new episode every Monday from February 26 to March 18.

An Immersive Dining Experience

Get ready for the IRL WcDonald's Immersive Dining Experience, a multi-sensory event in Los Angeles on March 9-10. Inspired by the isekai anime subgenre, this dining adventure combines 360 projection mapping with a menu of WcDonald's favorites. Reserve your spot via OpenTable starting February 28.

A Celebration of Anime Fan Art

McDonald's is also giving back to the anime community, awarding grants to three emerging anime artists for their WcDonald's-themed artwork. These artists will receive mentoring sessions with Acky Bright, celebrating the creativity that brought WcDonald's into the fan lexicon.
